Timber Shelters, Canopies, Gazebos & Pergolas
Setter Shelters is part of Setter Play Equipment producing playgrounds for schools, nurseries and Parish Councils. As a result of working in these areas we have designed and developed a range of timber shelters and canopies that can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
Schools and nurseries are required to provide access to outdoors, for their pupils as part of the normal course of lessons. Often some form of shelter is necessary so that children can play out, and be protected from the sun or rain. This helps the school to carry out their duty of care in protecting children who are busy learning through play.
We have provided several design solutions to this requirement including simple lean-to canopies, architectural curved beam canopies, traditional pitched roof timber shelters and hexagonal or octagonal gazebos.
Setter Shelters design and produce structures that compliment all types of buildings. We have provided a shelter for a Victorian School in central London who wanted a striking canopy design to compliment and enhance their old building. We have also worked with rural schools with listed building status, that needed careful planning and design to ensure that the new canopy would sympathise with their existing building. Setter Shelters can provide a canopy for your school that will be just right for you. Our attention to meticulous detailing enables us to provide a wonderful resource, that is practical and good looking.
Setter Shelters works closely with our customers who need to provide detailed drawings for planning consent applications, as well as calculations for building regulations, and have a great deal of ‘in house’ experience available to assist in these tasks. Setter Shelters have installed timber shelters in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and sensitive areas including the New Forest, the Forest of Dean and Sherwood Forest as well as the Cotswolds and the North Yorkshire Moors amongst others.
Our timber shelters can be designed with roof coverings to meet all requirements from reclaimed clay pan tiles matching a Victorian schoolhouse to cedar shingle in a countryside environment to modern UV filtering polycarbonate and felt shingle tiles. Naturally we are happy to advise and provide design solutions in consultation with our customers.
Setter Shelters have carried our projects for a great many customers including The Forestry Commision, Keir construction, Clitheroe Town Council, Go Ape the high wire adventure people, Mouchel Parkman building consultants, Leicester Outward Bound Centre, Leeds University and North Warwickshire Agricultural College as well as countless schools throughout England. We would be more than happy to provide solutions for your outdoor shelter needs and offer free consultation and surveys in order to provide you with the best possible information.
